John Massey, C.P.A., QKA

Director of Retirement Plan Services

Mr. Massey has more than 20 years of experience in working with retirement plans. He co-leads the firm’s retirement plan service practice, specializing in plan design, fiduciary oversight, 3(21) investment advice and participant education.

Before joining Marietta Wealth, Mr. Massey was the Managing Partner of a third-party administrator, Qualified Plans, where he oversaw the administration of over two billion dollars in assets for more than 65,000 participants throughout the United States. He has extensive experience with technical and regulatory issues regarding employee benefit plans.

Mr. Massey received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Georgia Southern University. He began his career in public accounting in 1994, where he earned his Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation. In 1997, he left public accounting to specialize in retirement plan administration where he earned his Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation.

He is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, as well as the American Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Massey is an avid golfer and enjoys fishing and skiing. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children on the weekends.
